The Elms

The Elms is a brand new residential children’s home, situated in the village of Marston in North Warwickshire. It’s central location and close proximity to the Midlands motorway network makes it an ideal choice for the placement of young people to enable easy access for family and professional visitors.

The resource is a short driving distance from Birmingham, Coventry and Leicester, which enables Archways Care to access many of the facilities that the cities have to offer. The home is well furnished and decorated to a very high standard.

We provide 52 week residential care packages for up to four young people of either gender aged 11 to 16 years with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The home operates a high level of staff supervision led by a Senior RSW. This is futher supported by off-rota Assistant/Registered Managers.

There is further support available from our Therapist, who helps inform the day to day care pracitices and offers a range of individual theraputic packages.

The systems and care practices employed by the staff are adopted from well established models of care devised at our two other resources Hill Farm and Badgers Rest, both of which are rated as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted. All of our paperwork is individualised and child friendly to enable ownership and allow easy monitoring and evidencing of the young peoples progress. Every week the social worker and parents (if appropriate) electronically receive a weekly progress sheet, which highlights all aspects of their week and any other relevant information.

Young people are encouraged to have input within the home.

All staff clearly understand that it is the young peoples home and it is important that young people are consulted wherever possible.

Each young person has their own bedroom in which they can decorate as they choose. Curtains and bedding are purchased to their own individual taste.

The young people are also welcome to have photographs of their family in the living areas.
